Joe DeLuca graduated with a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. As an expert in product design and development, he has spent the last 30 years designing innovative products for companies such as Kidde (a division of UTC) and BRK/First Alert (a division of Newell Brands) in various capacities. He is the holder/author of twelve patents and now serves as the Vice President of Engineering at the Knox Company. He has launched hundreds of products that have won numerous design awards and that have enhanced the safety and lives of people around the world.

Joe is also an accomplished musician.  He began playing drums at 9 years old and playing professionally with numerous Chicago-land bands at the age of 12. During college and thereafter, he played drums in big bands, jazz/rock fusion and rock/R&B bands.  Although not playing music any longer, music is still his passion, a passion he is excited to share with the UpBeat Music and Arts community.

Joe resides in Oswego, IL with his amazing wife, and his three inspirational young children. In their spare time, you could find them riding bikes, playing baseball, camping and otherwise enjoying the outdoors. As music lovers, you will also find them constantly singing and playing air guitar/drums to their favorite songs!
